According to a survey carried out by a professional survey institute (Source : IFOP – September 96 survey carried out on a representative sample of 1087 persons), Vire remains the capital of Andouille and Andouillette.
In fact, when asked the names mentioned spontaneously by consumers of Andouillettes, “Andouillette de Vire’’ comes widely in mind with 71% of respodents against 45% for “Troyes”, 40 % “Lyonnaise”, 38% “Pure Porc” and 29% “Campagnarde”.
Moreover the picture compared the different types of andouillettes, andouillette de Vire comes before the andouillette de Troyes and andouillette de Campagne for all the criteria:
